Bill! Bill! Bill!
Now that the Olympics are done and dusted, good ol' Bill Cipher and his book of horrors are back on top (of this list, your hearts, and bestseller lists). With more fanfics than ever, Deadpool and Wolverine may very well be next in line to dethrone the reigning Marvel ship, Spideypool. Conversation about the latest and final season of The Umbrella Academy continues, and some very expensive preorders have popped up for the upcoming Dragon Age sequel, The Veilguard. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.

Reflection
This past week could have been better. I'm not gonna sit here and claimed that I went out dressed in glitter to a club or something. It wasn’t a terrible week by any means. At the start of the week I just decluttered my closet, bedroom, bathroom, and wardrobe. On December 31st, I re-did a new moon ritual I created a way back to invite new energy for the New Year.
For New Years I was forced to spend time yet again with my dad's side of the family. We spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years with them. I haven't seen my mom's side of the family for over a year now. I don't love my family per say. I wouldn't spend time around my family members if we weren't family if that makes sense. They're also all guys on my dad's side besides my girl cousins who are all like 8 and under. Some of my uncles grilled meat and we spent the night outside until around 11:00 when we went home to spend the last 30 minutes as immediate family only plus my older sister's boyfriend that no one likes but she insisted come because his family doesn't do anything for New Years.
On January 1, I spent the day journaling. I'm almost done finishing my prior to 2025 spreads. January isn't typically a busy month for me. It is more towards February that I have more up to date things to write about. Then from January 2-4 I spent some time on and off journaling, sending out information to my sorority chapter on their academic check ins, and made some plans with my Greek family tree to go out next week for my Little Mia's birthday.

currents.18[2025]
selections from my week in media [ 27 april - 3 may 2025 ]
Finally, the sickness has lifted, and I could concentrate on watching new stuff this week! I started four new shows and am very much enjoying them all. I also finished several books that I highly recommend.
[ listening ]
[ reading ]
Boyfriends vol 1 by refrainbow {5 stars} - queer poly romcom webtoon (print version) - This was a lot of fun to read. I love the comic strip format and the art is beautiful in its simplicity. Also I love that, so far, none of the characters are named, and are just archetypes. Also there's a coloring book?
Bunt! Striking Out on Financial Aid by Ngozi Ukazu and Mad Rupert {5 stars} - I love Ukazu's writing style and this graphic novel made me both laugh out loud and thank the FSM that my college days are long gone. The art is also a lot of fun and fits the writing perfectly.
Strangers by Lyra500 - Christian/Syed EastEnders canon divergence AU - Christian is Syed's tween daughter's PE teacher. One of my favorites for this pairing and the character work is excellent.
Swordcrossed by Freya Marske {4 stars} - m/m fantasy romance - I am confused about why this is labeled 'fantasy' when there are no fantasy elements. Yes, it takes place in a fictional world, but there's no magic of any kind that I could identify. Apart from that, it's a great book. The romance is really well done, with a relationship that starts out antagonistic but morphs through friendship into love. I've seen readers complain about the first half being heavy on the trade industry world-building and yeah it is a bit. But I think it pays off in the end, and throughout all that you've got two guys really going through it in different ways. It's refreshing to see so much detail and I'm hoping the author is planning more books set in this world.
[ watching ]
Are You the One, ep 1-13 - This drama was all over my dash for awhile, but it was before I knew about Zhang Wanyi so it wasn't a priority. Then I discovered him and it quickly got bumped up on the watchlist. I went in blind as usual and immediately recognized Wang Churan, who I really liked in Fireworks of My Heart. And the plot is great too. I can't tell if there is an actual mystery or if I'm reading too much into things. (Or if I'm still a bit hungover from the cold.) It gets bonus points for snagging my partner's interest and it has now turned into a shared watching experience. Love that.
Love Never Fails, ep 1-10 - It's fun and kind of silly, but it's got Liu Xueyi so it's got that going for it. But also, I haven't watched enough of this style of cdrama so I don't really have a baseline for it yet (other than preferring a darker tone overall). If you have recs, I'd love to know what you liked in this genre and why.
The Next Prince, ep 1 - At best, I was ambivalent about this show. But I never blocked the tag so I've seen the progress of production over the months and ngl it got me curious. The first episode was much stronger than I expected. The production values are crazy good, and I can only hope this show succeeds so the rest of the company's shows benefit from all that money spent. I've seen Zee in a few things and always thought he was great, but I think I've only seen Nunew in one or two things, so I was impressed by the growth of his acting. The big reveal scene was devastating. They really nailed the father/son chemistry overall and I know it's unlikely but I'm hoping Nin's dad isn't actually dead. And lastly, the product placement was inspired. Thank you, cousin from Thailand.
Pit Babe s2, ep 1 - Still kind of amazed we got a season two of the omegaverse racers show. Love that for us. The first episode was great and I definitely need to do a quick rewatch of season one to refresh my memory of the lore. LOL I wrote up a live reaction recap with many more thoughts here.

day 02 // 100dop++

new year's planning...also oops cuz i just realized i made a typo (no way would i survive a one-month long course in organic chem...thank god they don't exist 😅)
honestly so not ready to go back to school, i just wanna finish all the programming courses i started and read all the journal articles i want to (they're a large contributor to the many browser tabs i have open 😭). it's not because i don't like what i'll be learning about - the journal articles i'm reading are on life sciences topics after all. i dread the rigidity and unforgivingness of the semester and lonely feelings that come with it. i feel so much more free and like i have a choice in how i spend my days when i'm not in school.
study stats (50/10): 🍅🍅🍅🍅(? i stopped counting after 3h)
meditate ✅
physio ✅
finish reading metabolomics article ✅
start reading proteomics article ✅
learn Perl ✅
learn R ✅
exercise ✅

It's been a thirsty week on ye olde tumblr dot com
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Deadpool & Wolverine is about as gay as it gets without kissing—though some of you are convinced they did, in fact, have relations in that car. For Jujutsu Kaisen fans, some fears were apparently confirmed, and you are all feeling many feelings about that. The Book of Bill was released last week to much acclaim here on Tumblr, and you all keep on proving you really do love a sexyman, whatever shape he might take. And the ongoing sports in Paris continue to give you all much to yell and art about (shout out to all the art of the air pistol podium icons). This is Tumblr’s Week in Review.

Hey it's Monday! Let's try that
Week-In-Review?
I am definitely doing these more as an adulting accountability post I think, but regardless!
Reading:
Finished The Hollow Places, highly recommended, deeply disturbing and yet ultimately wonderfully comforting/validating/humane. Can't quite think of the word I want? But it makes you glad to be a People on This World of Ours! (If also very glad that the specific adventures in the book are fiction and you do not have to worry about them spreading to anyone else 😅)
Am currently re-reading a series I recalled from when I was, idk, 10 or something, called The Time Keeper which holds up pretty well. I'm enjoying them... they're VERY 80s-SFF-Juvenile Fiction, though, if anyone is familiar with that niche of a sub-genre. 😄
My mother and I had a weird conversation awhile back: do you remember those books with the time travel and the stepping stones when I was a kid? and did eventually figure out the series with only that! Then she found the ebooks re-issued by the author and got them for me. 🎉
Playing:
Murder by Numbers, which is a mystery VN plus a slew of those pictogram puzzle things, and I am enjoying it a lot. Though I got a low(er) score on the third case and am not sure what I missed, so it may be a bit before I go back to finish it... It goes gloriously hard with its 90s aesthetic/setting too, so that's fun.
Adulting:
I have not been making my bed or doing anything beyond the bare minimum of laundry, but the dishes are being held in check and I've been taking my meds and no one missed an appointment or starved, so that's pretty much a win, I think?
Creating:
I did work on the Current Cross Stitch, but it's a bit of a slog atm (and I think I screwed up a color) so that didn't last long...
No writing either.
Instead I made a Crochet Kit Piggie!

She's a little crooked, but I'm pleased by my first attempt. 💕 Next I'm trying an Elephant and they'll go sit on the picture book shelf with Thing 2's old Elephant & Piggie Books, since I still remember those pretty fondly myself.
And that's about it? We got a bit of snow today, which was nice, but otherwise it's been the same old around here.
What have you been up to, my dears & darlings?

15th Oct.
This week has been difficult for me. Recovering from a medical procedure took longer than I had hoped and with my not so great mental health I’ve been feeling pretty down.
But there have been things to bring me back up, and I’m forever grateful for that. I haven’t been involving myself in fandom much recently for personal reasons but I’ve been in the background enjoying peoples posts and creations. And of course, the man himself always brings joy - I wasn’t able to join the bloodsucking bastards watch on the space sisters server but I had a Prospect rewatch which always lifts my spirits. Thank goodness for Ezra & Pedro 💚

I’ve read less than I’d hoped to this week, but I’ve loved the things I have! Some recs from me:
A forgotten scene by @fromthedeskoftheraven
Cockwarming w Marcus M by @flightlessangelwings
Kiss me quick by @secretelephanttattoo
I’ve also made a start to some longer fics & series which I’m loving and so excited to keep reading! (I’m so so slow, I’m sorry)
The Pit by @morallyinept
Muddy Waters by @bonezone44
Recovery Road by @chronically-ghosted
A ghost of you by @wannab-urs
Compulsion by @iamskyereads

Of my own work, this week I’ve posted a few little things - to be honest I’ve been filled with dread about posting fic recently but I’m pushing through and trying to appreciate my own creativity more:
-Dulia (Ezra x gn!reader)
-Ascending Stars (Ezra x f!reader)
-take the long way home pt 2 (marcus pike x afab!reader)
-A selection of Dieter & one Ezra phone wallpapers here and here

For the week ahead, I’m kind of nervous about some work things but I do have plans (a date!!) and I’m super excited to hopefully have Our House of Flames pt 3 (Joel x reader) out. I also have a good old list of fic to read (95 and counting on my tbr - god bless the talented and prolific writers in this fandom).
Thank you all for brightening my dash & my days - always sending my appreciation. And love to anyone who reads this random Sunday ramble!

I feel like Portland’s building facades don’t get enuf credit.
I took these at the bus stop softly muttering “the ornamentation” to myself.

The bus is clutch because it always makes me show up to things early because I pad the time more than I ever would had I driven. I also get to take nice pictures of snow. The bus drivers also drive crazy, once in a while we go in the side walk and you are tapping in the window trying to get the guy at the corners attention because he doesn’t realize the bus driver fully abandoned avoiding the corner and that he should back up.

Reflection
This week I lead multiple Academic Check Up meetings for some of my chapter sisters. I also focused on completing my Vice President of Member Development (VPMD) and Alpha Sigma Tau's 2025 Officer Academy coursework.
I was able to finish the week itself with Officer Academy. On Friday I woke up around 8 am and it lasted until around 5:15. It was broken up in different sessions which provided an opportunity to identify areas for improvement and clarify my goals moving forward in my position.
What was amazing about it is that I was able to interact with women with the position as me from different chapters. In our small groups I was the only one to have held VPMD before so I was able to answer some of their questions. I left relieved that I was not the only one to envy the removal of Director of Academic Success from smaller chapters like my own.
Through both my Academic Check Ups and Officer Academy I was able to better identity my goals for my Member Development Team (my directors under me) and myself.
